Strawberry Party!!

What a great day to be in Kindergarten.  We enjoyed chocolate dipped strawberries and reviewed how our aquaponics system works to grow fruit and vegetables.  Science is AWESOME!

Tomorrow, please return Jog-A-Thon T shirt order form if your child wants a T-shirt to wear on
Jog-A-Thon day.  The green form was sent home last week and says you will collect $25 dollars or more for the fundraiser.

Forest Science and Paper Making

The last couple of days we have learned a lot about Forest Science and Paper Making!  Students were introduced to the two kinds of tree families:  Coniferous and Broadleaf.  We learned about the gifts that trees give us and ways we can help the earth.  Yesterday, we were busy making paper.  Wow!  What an awesome memorable experience for the kiddos.

We have finished studying each letter of the alphabet!  Next week we will focus on the vowels.  We will spend one week on each vowel:  A-E-I-O-and U.  We will discuss the short sound in words.  In addition, we will be writing very special end of the year book to share with families:)

Have a wonderful sunny weekend:))

Information

Popcorn tomorrow Friday, April 8th---.25 cents

We will have another lockdown drill tomorrow morning around 9:00.  This drill will review our procedures during a lockdown drill and will add the evacuation component.  As always, our goal is to have kids learn to listen to teacher directions in all situation and follow directions in all situations.
We will discuss this beforehand and make sure all students know that this is another way we practice safety at our school, as we do for fire drills and earthquake drills.

It was a busy fun day in math today.  The students had fun making 3-D shapes out of noodles and marshmellows.  I was impressed with awesome shapes.
