Dear Families,
We are
getting closer to winter break and I wanted to check in and provide some
updates and information.
I will be
sending home a gift from me to the kinders this Wednesday, as well as a family
gift from your child to YOU. They may give it to you before the holidays
or wait until break. It is a special gift they worked hard on, we hope
you like it.
This week
the students have been busy making a Holiday Book. We are learning about
3 different holidays celebrated this time of year and do a craft activity for
each.
Keep
reading and filling out December Reading Logs. The goal for this month is
22 books. Just keep them over break and count any titles read in January
for this log. I will collect on January 8 when all students arrive back to school.
The last
day of school in 2018 will be Friday, December 21. This will be a very
fun day for the kinders. We will have a school wide holiday sing-a-long
in the morning and then watch the movie "The Polar Express" in the
afternoon. Students may wear their pajamas to school all day (please wear
shoes for recess). Please let me know if you do not want your child
watching this movie.
We are
really working hard in school and learning so much. It is amazing how
much progress has been made since the beginning of the year. Keep reading
and working on sounds and words with your child.
I wish you
all a wonderful and safe holiday season and will look forward to seeing
everyone back in 2019!
Thank you!
