Next week we will take the EasyCBM mid-year assessment.  This is a one-minute timing for letter sounds, sounds in words (segmentation) and word reading.  I will send home information about your child’s progress after the assessments have been complete.

We will also be taking the Math Diagnostic test that is part of the new iReady Math curriculum.  We will be taking this in the library as a whole group on the desktop computers.  The information from this test will help us differentiate iPad math instruction for the remainder of the year.  Student will be doing independent lessons on the iPad about one day a week, and gradually increase as the year goes on.   This will help supplement the math program we are currently using in class.
