Welcome to Kindergarten
I am so excited to begin our new school year!!   In
kindergarten, children develop skills that they need to be successful as
they enter first grade and continue through school. Having a full day
of school will allow children to develop early reading and math skills,
social skills, and have lots of time for fun and play.  Our program also
includes; music, library, science, P.E. and social studies.
Kindergarten Staggered Start Schedule
This means that for the first two days of school (Sept. 5th & 6th,), your child will only attend one of these days.
Only a portion of the students will come to school each day, until all
students have attended. There is NO SCHOOL for Kindergartners on Friday Sept. 7th- Teacher will be meeting together to develop class lists.   Then, all students will come together as a
class, on Monday, September 10th.
We believe this ‘staggered start’ method will be helpful to both your child as well as our kindergarten team.  Many
of our kindergarten students have never experienced school before. This
is a new transition for them, especially attending for a full day. By
providing teachers with smaller groups of students, this will eliminate
many of the worries our youngsters may bring. In addition, this schedule
will provide an opportunity for our kindergarten team to get to know
all the children through small group activities as they begin to learn
about school. Further, teachers will be able to observe, assess and get
to know children and parents before developing class lists.
Parent
letters and post cards will be mailed before school that will provide
details regarding the staggered start schedule and which day your child
will be attending school.
Class Lists will be posted on Friday, September 7th at 4:00.
Class Lists will be posted on Friday, September 7th at 4:00.
All students will attend Kindergarten in their assigned classroom on Monday, September 10th.
I
am looking forward to a great year in Kindergarten.  I can't wait to
meet the students and parents and work together to make a WONDERFUL
beginning to a lifetime of learning.  See you very soon.
Sincerely-
Mrs. Thompson
